Civil Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer to support traffic and road safety projects aimed at improving road network efficiency, reducing congestion, and maintaining public safety on the state-controlled road network.

  • Investigate, analyze, and review traffic and road safety issues across the network.
  • Deliver the Road Safety Minor Works Program to ensure value-for-money treatments.
  • Support the development of Road Safety Mass Action Plans and Safer Roads Sooner project proposals.
  • Provide technical advice on traffic engineering matters, including signage and line marking.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • A 4-year Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or recognised equivalent qualification.
  • Prior experience or interest in traffic engineering and road safety is highly regarded.
  • A current Class C Driver's Licence.
  • A valid Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suitable for site visits.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
