Executive Chef Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Demi Chef to join our culinary team at Sofitel Melbourne. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, and providing exceptional service to our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Section Management: Organize and manage a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring efficient and productive operations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and advise on daily kitchen food and product requirements, ensuring timely ordering and inventory management.
- Training and Development: Assist in training Commis Chefs and apprentices, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet the desired standards.
- Quality Control: Ensure all food is stored and handled in accordance with current food health and hygiene regulations, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Senior Chefs and other kitchen staff to promote flexibility, productivity, and exceptional service.
- Customer Satisfaction: Meet and exceed customer expectations, ensuring our hotel restaurant and conferencing areas are recognized for consistent, value-for-money, and quality cuisine.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-apprenticeship experience in a 5-star environment.
- Training and Development: Experience in training others and ability to provide culinary certificates upon application.
- Time Management: Ability to organize time and work efficiently, with a focus on productivity and quality.
- Work Environment: Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with a rotating roster including weeknights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Food Safety: Understanding of and ability to maintain food safety standards and HACCP.
