Executive Chef Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join our culinary team at The Ritz-Carlton Melbourne. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, ensuring exceptional service standards and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and high-quality food production
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards
- Monitor inventory and ordering of supplies to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu ideas and concepts
Requirements:
- Trade Industry Qualification or completion of Commercial Cookery Qualification
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or restaurant environment
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality and presentation
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
