Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill this new position. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining health and safety and quality frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety and quality systems in the workplace according to objectives.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to clients and stakeholders on health and safety and quality matters.
  • Liaise with clients to develop site risk registers for all sites and venues.
  • Establish key relationships with internal and external clients, contractors, and partners to ensure quality and WHS requirements are reviewed regularly.
  • Travel to host sites and drive continuous improvement of quality and WHS culture and systems, assessing client businesses periodically and providing assessment reports.
  • Develop and implement a risk assessment and internal audit program for hosts and the company.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and state-based requirements.
  • Report on health, safety, and quality statistics, coordinate and perform risk assessments and audits, and deliver weekly and monthly reporting as required.
  • Conduct investigations into safety-related incidents, accidents, and injuries.
  • Coach stakeholders in key health, safety & quality matters such as risk management, process documentation, and controls, continuous improvement, fitness for work, manual handling, and safety management plans.
  • Responsible for preparing and executing all OH&S and Quality audits.
  • Develop safety programs for clients as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • The role requires comprehensive knowledge and understanding of West Australian WHS legislation (acts, regulations, and codes of practice), quality standards, and risk management.
  • Strong communication and well-developed interpersonal skills, with ability to liaise with external clients and internal customers.
  • Knowledge and technical skills in risk management from extensive work experience as a qualified specialist, and experience in developing and implementing OH&S and Quality management systems.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in a HESQ management role, as a specialist in quality and health and safety systems.
  • Previous experience with online injury management and risk assessment systems.
  • Experience with risk assessments and audits as an internal auditor or externally as a consultant.
  • Experience with workers compensation legislation.

Education Requirements:

  • Diploma Occupational Health & Safety
  • Graduate Certificate in Risk Management, or similar
  • Lead Auditor Qualifications
  • TapRooT, Why Tree, or 5 Whys experience and training in incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Certificate IV In Training and Assessment (preferred)
