Climate Risk and Resilience Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Climate Risk and Resilience Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Climate Risk and Resilience team, you will play a critical role in guiding clients through the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standard (ASRS) Standard 2 (AASB S2) and other regional APAC climate-related reporting regimes.

Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate and analyze climate-related risks and opportunities for clients across various sectors, including energy, retail, financial institutions, and manufacturing. You will work closely with our decarbonization, ESG, and mandatory reporting teams to deliver high-quality services to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global climate science, scenarios, and relevant climate data. You will possess excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify and assess climate-related risks and opportunities. A background in sustainability or a related field is essential, as well as experience delivering transition and physical climate risk and opportunity assessments.

You will be responsible for drafting reports and presentations that convey key messages, inform strategic decision-making, and deliver impact-led conclusions. Your ability to analyze, write about, and advise upon economic, regulatory, and sustainability-related subjects will be crucial to your success in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery: Support the delivery of agreed consulting engagements/projects on time, on budget, and to high standards of quality.
  • Technical Analysis: Provide expert viewpoint and quality assurance on deliverables as needed.
  • Client Relationship Building: Build the confidence and trust of client teams and represent their interests effectively inside their organizations.
  • Deliverable Drafting & Presentation: Prepare and deliver high-quality reports, presentations, and sometimes workshops in line with project scope.
Requirements
  • A degree/relevant qualification in a related field (sustainability/climate, environmental science, finance, climate policy, etc.).
  • A passion for sustainability and an interest in being at the forefront of sustainability and sustainable finance.
  • An understanding of global climate science, scenarios, and relevant climate data.
  • Experience delivering transition and physical climate risk and opportunity assessments for an organization or clients.
  • Curious, open-minded, and enthusiastic with clear ability to collaborate and work well with a wide range of people on a global basis.
  • Familiarity with reporting frameworks such as ASRS AASB S2, TCFD, ISSB, or other related standards.
  • Drafting reports and presentations that convey key messages, inform strategic decision-making, and deliver impact-led conclusions.
  • Ability to analyze, write about, and advise upon economic, regulatory, and sustainability-related subjects.
