Assistant Store Manager Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Store Manager to drive sales growth, build customer loyalty, and ensure exceptional customer service across all store departments.

The successful candidate will have a strong retail background, with experience in managing staff, leading by example, and achieving sales targets. They will be confident in their ability to motivate and direct staff to achieve their performance goals and ensure efficient operation of the store.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • To support the Store Manager in achieving sales, profit, and compliance targets through effective leadership, customer service, and inventory management.
  • To drive sales growth through execution of promotional activities, cross-selling, up-selling initiatives, and superior customer service.
  • To efficiently execute all operational activities of the store, including expenses, stock management, shrinkage, general housekeeping, and administration.
  • To maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring that every customer has a great experience and drives customer loyalty.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Relevant Retail/Business Management (desirable)
  • Minimum 1 year's experience in an assistant store management role within a retail/FMCG store operations environment or successful completion of the Trainee Store Management Programme
  • Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.)

Key Skills:

  • Understanding and application of financial management principles
  • Retail/FMCG background and understanding of merchandising and promotions principles
  • Knowledge of stock, cost, risk, and compliance management procedures
  • Strong customer orientation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead and supervise a team
