Seeking a Technology Foresight Specialist to lead the program of work supporting national security on emerging and disruptive technologies.

This role will play a key part in providing domain insights, developing methodologies for assessing technology impacts from a national security perspective and conducting analysis for other domains.

The primary stakeholders for this program of work are the Critical Technologies Hub (Department of Industry, Science and Resources) and the National Security S&T Centre (NSSTC) in DSTG.

In undertaking this role, you will also contribute to the broader Strategic Futures S&T project and conduct research in analysis of emerging technologies.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for working closely with existing Defence Impacts of Emerging Technologies STC to provide technology foresight support to Defence, National Security agencies and advice on potential critical technologies for whole of government.

Your duties will include leading technology foresight client-facing projects relevant to national security, having an appreciation of strategic priorities, building collaborations with others in DSTG, other national security agencies, industry and academia and negotiating appropriate work packages.

What You'll Need:

To succeed in this role, you will need a depth of knowledge in analysis of emerging technologies, have experience, awareness and knowledge of the role of such technologies in a Defence and national security context.

You will need strong analytical skills, ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, negotiation skills and an understanding of the Defence and National Security environment.
