Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team at the State of Washington. As a key member of our Leave and Care Division, you will provide critical support to our HR functions, ensuring seamless employee onboarding and offboarding processes, and handling various HR-related tasks with precision and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the point of contact for employee action requests and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Onboard and offboard employees, ensuring a smooth transition and compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Submit recruitment requests to Talent Acquisition and assist in preparing and debriefing interview panels.
  • Conduct personnel file reviews, notify applicants, and extend job offers to selected candidates.
  • Assist in conducting reference checks for selected candidates and prepare new position description forms for review.
Requirements
  • Four (4) years of office experience, including two (2) years in a human resources or related setting.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience totaling at least four (4) years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • State government experience.
  • Experience writing letters related to corrective and disciplinary actions, hearing union grievances, and writing grievance responses.
  • Experience conducting personnel investigations and working with the Washington State Human Resource Management System (HRMS).
Special Requirements
  • Must be able to pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claim & Benefit Information Review.
  • Internet service with speeds of 30mbps download and 2 MB upload.
