Aboriginal Youth Mental Health Specialist

This is a dedicated Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander position. To be eligible for this role, you must be able to prove Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being an Aboriginal person and being accepted in the community as such.
The Role:- We are seeking a Senior Aboriginal Mental Health Community Integration Team Clinician to work within a multi-disciplinary team addressing the health needs of young people released from custody to the community.
- This role will improve knowledge, skills and confidence in working with Aboriginal people accessing mental health and/or drug and alcohol services.
- Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of systems, processes and tools for consistent engagement, referral and transition for Aboriginal people with mental health, social and emotional, and drug and alcohol concerns.
- Establish strong partnerships with community mental health and/or drug and alcohol services, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS), General Practitioners (GP's), Non-Government Organisations (NGO) and youth services.
- Provide clinical care to Aboriginal young people, families and communities across NSW with significant mental health and/or drug and alcohol concerns.
- A bachelor degree or higher level relative to the role (including a Bachelor of Health Science for program graduates).
- A valid unrestricted driver's license for use in NSW/Australia.
- A valid NSW Employee Working With Children Check.
