Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing health and safety strategies to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of health and safety strategies to ensure projects are delivered in line with legislative and client requirements.
  • Coordinate the health and safety framework, including the administration of KPIs, targets, and processes for health and safety performance to be monitored on site and to the client's approval and requirements.
  • Collaborate with staff to improve hazard inspections and internal audit processes on health and safety hazards and risks.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop and review SWMS, EWMS, undertake hazard reporting and proactive safety measures.
  • Coordinate the chemical safety within the workplace and actively manage to reduce the associated risks.
  • Assist with the management of the internal audit process for major projects and the preparation and submission to the client as required under the contract.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications (at a minimum CERT IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety and / or Environment).
  • Strong understanding of Work Health Safety and Environmental Legislation.
  • Strong knowledge of acts, regulations, codes of practice, and standards.
  • Operating knowledge of Heavy Plant & Equipment would be beneficial.
  • Experience in Health and Safety / Environment – preferably on project work.
  • Previous exposure in internal and external auditing.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs and systems e.g. SharePoint.
  • Superior written and verbal communication with the ability to converse with a wide variety of people.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
