We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Poultry Professional to join our team. As a key member of our livestock and food production team, you will play a vital role in managing the environment to provide optimal conditions for layer hens to achieve maximum production daily while upholding strict animal welfare protocols.

About The Role

This role involves conducting regular checks on feed, water, and light levels, as well as performing maintenance tasks on equipment when necessary. You will also be responsible for ensuring the birds are comfortable by conducting environmental checks, and inspecting bird welfare, egg systems, and egg belts for ease of flow.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Conducting feed, water and light checks, including general maintenance to equipment where necessary;
  • Conducting environmental checks to ensure birds are comfortable;
  • Conducting inspections on bird welfare, egg systems, and egg belts for ease of flow;
  • General cleaning and servicing of sheds and equipment as required;
  • Other duties as required.
About You
  • You should live locally or be prepared to relocate to the area; being willing to adhere to animal welfare guidelines and regulations is essential;
  • A valid driver's license and strong physical nature are also necessary;
  • You will work collaboratively as part of a team but also autonomously when required;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good written and verbal communication skills are necessary;
  • You must be reliable, punctual, motivated, and detail-oriented with excellent organisational and time management skills.
