Poultry Farmhand Opportunity in Pittsworth QLD

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and physically fit individual to join our poultry farm as a farmhand. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily management of the environment to ensure optimal conditions for layer hens.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducting regular checks on feed, water, and lighting systems;
- Maintaining equipment and performing general maintenance tasks as required;
- Inspecting the environment to ensure bird comfort and welfare;
- Cleaning and servicing sheds and equipment regularly;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- A local resident or willing to relocate to the area would be highly regarded;
- The ability to strictly adhere to animal welfare guidelines and regulations;
- No prior experience in poultry farming is necessary, but it would be beneficial;
- A current valid driver's license is required;
- The role may involve strenuous physical activity, so a robust physical nature is essential;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with colleagues and external contacts;
- Commitment to adhering to health and safety, bio-security, and operational protocols;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Reliability, punctuality, and motivation are essential;
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills are necessary for success.
