
Critical Care Specialist

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Medical Intensivist to join our team in a complex clinical environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordinating patient admission, management and discharge planning with the ICU team.
- Ensuring accurate documentation of patient information in medical records.
- Day-to-day assessment and management of patients in the ICU unit with open communication with patients and their families about treatment and condition.
- Care coordination with healthcare teams including arranging consultations with other staff as necessary.
- Decision-making regarding patient care in consultation with immediate supervisor.
- Semi-autonomous patient management within the ICU unit under some supervision from Specialists in ICU.
The Medical Intensivist will also be responsible for:
- Providing guidance and support to Resident Medical Officers in the ICU unit.
- Contributing to teaching University students attached to the hospital.
- Supporting Quality/Clinical Practice improvement activities within the ICU unit at the hospital.
- Developing and maintaining patient care plans.
- Liaising with inpatient teams as needed.
- Reviewing and documenting investigation results for all patients.
- Participating in projects or committees related to Critical Care upon request.
- Completing requests for medico-legal documentation when required.
