Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced environmental consultant to lead the delivery of high-quality environmental approvals across various sectors.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of high-quality environmental approvals across a mix of small to large-scale infrastructure, energy, and development projects.
  • Interpret environmental legislation, policy, and guidelines to design tailored approvals strategies that unlock project success.
  • Engage directly with State and Commonwealth regulators to understand and respond to their needs, supporting smooth project approvals and positive outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients through clear communication, proactive support, and excellent service.
  • Prepare compelling proposals, referrals, and approvals documentation that meet the needs of clients and regulators.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables with a sharp eye for detail and accountability.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including identifying opportunities, writing bids, and supporting strategic growth.
About You
  • You will need at least 5 years' experience in environmental assessments and approvals in NSW, ideally within a consulting environment.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, planning, natural resource management, or a related field is required.
  • You must have a strong working knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation, planning pathways, and approval processes.
  • You should be able to lead and deliver small to medium projects independently, with experience coordinating tasks, subconsultants, timelines, and budgets.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor your message for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You should have high-quality report writing skills and pride in delivering clear, accurate, and professional documentation.
  • Strong client relationship skills are necessary, built through trust, responsiveness, and delivery of quality outcomes.
  • You must be able to juggle competing priorities, manage project deadlines and budgets, and remain focused under pressure.
  • A positive, proactive approach is required, with a commitment to teamwork, continual learning, and mentoring others.
