JMB Environmental Consulting Pty Ltd (JMBEC) is a privately owned, innovative multidisciplinary environmental consultancy with offices and accredited laboratories in Sydney, Canberra and Townsville. We specialise in asbestos and hazardous materials management, indoor air quality, mould and moisture assessments and NATA accredited laboratory services.

We have an exciting opportunity for an indoor environmental consultant to help deliver our varied workload across our core business sectors throughout Australia's East Coast and beyond, and help promote our purpose of improving health and wellbeing within the workplace and home.

The Role:

Working across our core business sectors, the relevant candidate will deliver site work and reporting requirements across the following areas:

  • Indoor air quality assessments and HVAC audits
  • Mould & moisture assessments - (cause analysis)
  • Mould and moisture risk assessments and PRV
  • Occupational and environmental assessments
  • Fire Damage Assessments
  • Clandestine Drug Lab Assessments and clearance
  • Building Inspections

The Successful Candidate:

Building assessor / inspector

Insurance Assessor

Restoration technician

Indoor Environmental Consultant

Air quality assessor / HVAC assessor or technician

We are looking for a person with the following experience and attributes:

Experience:

  • At least 2 years working within the built environment.

Skills:

  • Good understanding of industry legislation and best practice
  • Thorough knowledge of mould and moisture within the built environment
  • Knowledge of industry testing and sampling equipment
  • Good technical report writing abilities
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage relationships
  • Ability to set goals and action plans
  • A positive, down to earth attitude
  • A high level of accountability
  • A basic working knowledge of budgeting and profit management is advantageous
  • Good digital capabilities cross platform (Microsoft Office programs, apple iWork programs, in house software applications)
  • Full Australian drivers licence
  • Commitment to uphold and promote the Purpose, Mission, Vision and Values of JMBEC

Education and/or Qualifications:

Any of the following would be great:

  • IICRC certifications (AMRT, WRT, FSRT)

  • Licensed Asbestos Assessor (LAA)IP402 - Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings

  • Any American Council for Accredited Certifications (ACAC):

    • CSMI – Council-certified Structural Mold Investigator
    • CMI – Council-certified Microbial Investigator
    • CMC – Council-certified Microbial Consultant
