At Incitec Pivot Limited, our Manufacturing Operations at Phosphate Hill encompass a fully integrated open-cut mining and processing facility dedicated to producing premium ammonium phosphate fertilizers for both domestic and international markets. Our production infrastructure includes ammonia, phosphoric acid, granulation, and beneficiation plants, all utilizing cutting-edge technology and advanced manufacturing techniques.
The Phosphoric Acid Plant features horizontal vacuum belt filters designed for dewatering rock slurry and filtering phosphoric acid from gypsum, along with reaction vessels that facilitate the interaction of phosphate rock with sulfuric acid, and an evaporation unit that transforms intermediate acid into strong acid. Additionally, we have storage facilities for phosphate rock slurry, phosphoric acid, and sulfuric acid, as well as systems for managing gypsum tailings.
Reporting directly to the Mineral Acid Plant Team Leader, your responsibilities will encompass ensuring production targets for volume and quality are met, maintaining cleanliness, troubleshooting operational issues, processing maintenance notifications, and identifying avenues for ongoing improvement.
Key Responsibilities :

- Implement safe permit and isolation procedures
- Prepare for and plan plant shutdowns

Candidate Profile

To excel in this position, candidates should ideally possess the following qualifications and traits:
- Physically capable of performing daily manual handling tasks
- Experience in a Process Technician capacity within a continuous processing environment, or possess a trade qualification with a desire to transition into operations
- Flexible, detail-oriented, and quality-focused, able to work effectively in a small, self-directed team
- Previous experience in the chemical or gas processing industries is advantageous, as is operational experience with boilers and turbines
- Proactive and results-oriented, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality, and the ability to foster strong working relationships across all levels
- Excellent communication skills are essential
