Research Support Specialist

This is a fixed-term, part-time position (0.8FTE) for 12 months as a Laboratory Technician.
The team responsible for building and testing silicon modules for the next generation of particle tracking detectors in the ATLAS experiment at CERN are looking for a skilled Laboratory Technician to join their team.
Main Responsibilities:- Operate hardware required to thermal cycle, test, and characterise silicon strip modules for ATLAS ITk.
- Collaborate with a team of staff and students, liaising with international collaborators to ensure high-quality modules are produced.
- Support laboratory needs of physicists and maintain equipment and computers to assist researchers, students, and staff.
- Contribute to the coordination and integration of silicon module production within the ITk project.
- Experience with laboratory needs in experimental particle physics, electronics, applied physics, or related disciplines.
- Experience supporting laboratory needs and maintaining equipment and computers for researchers and staff.
- Experience working with university-based academics.
- Knowledge and experience interfacing and controlling hardware across various computing platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to promote integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence, and discovery.
The successful applicant will be an integral part of a highly collaborative and dynamic team, contributing to the development of cutting-edge technology for particle tracking detectors.
