AWS Personnel Security Manager

As the AWS Personnel Security Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of security experts to operate and continuously improve industry-leading personnel security programs and processes. This challenging role requires innovative thinking and a strong customer focus.
AWS runs a globally distributed environment, handling massive volumes of sensitive data. Businesses from start-ups to enterprises rely on AWS' highly secure infrastructure. The AWS Personnel Security team manages security clearance and vetting activities for employees supporting programs, including ongoing assessments on suitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and development of the Personnel Security team.
- Develop and implement strategies to securely onboard and offboard program staff.
- Create and maintain security clearance frameworks aligned with the evolving demands of our business, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain personnel security clearance management requirements, including the meticulous maintenance of all documentation, files, and clearance and suitability assessments in accordance with customer requirements.
- Drive the development and evolution of our personnel security programs, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Develop and deliver tracking and reporting metrics to monitor performance and guide decision-making.
- Evaluate and improve processes within the personnel security team, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing measures to increase efficiency and quality.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience working on sensitive, high-security programs.
- Proficient in government security frameworks, policies, and standards.
- Minimum 5 years experience in implementing and operationalising security to meet business outcomes.
- Demonstrated track record of growth and increasing responsibility, including leadership positions requiring maturity, judgment, negotiation, analytics, and influence skills.
