Are you a seasoned data professional looking to take your career to the next level? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Platform and Data Group at REA Group.

This is a unique role that requires a strong technical background in data engineering, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work closely with our partner teams to assess and grow their data maturity, develop and federate data management practices, and design, build, test, deploy, and maintain platform software and systems.

We are looking for someone with 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, data engineering, and platform engineering, with a strong working knowledge of various data management functions, including data governance, metadata management, data quality management, master data management, data modelling, data design, and data security.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Collaborating with partner teams to assess and grow their data maturity
  • Developing and federating data management practices
  • Designing, building, testing, deploying, and maintaining platform software and systems
  • Contributing to platform and product initiatives
  • Collaborating on solution designs and technical problems
  • Supporting less experienced team members
  • Maintaining existing platform products and services
  • Supporting production systems

We are a distributed team across four Australian states, and you will be comfortable collaborating remotely and continuously looking for ways to improve our ways of working.
