We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Platform and Data Group at REA Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our data capabilities and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain platform software and systems using a variety of technologies and disciplines.
  • Develop and implement data management practices and frameworks to support the growth of our data maturity.
  • Represent the 'Voice of the Business' to ensure data management practices are aligned with business needs.
  • Write, test, and document code according to REA Engineering standards and practices.
  • Contribute to platform and product initiatives, and collaborate on solution designs and technical problems.
  • Support less experienced team members and maintain existing platform products and services.
  • Support production systems and contribute to strong technical and engineering practices in the team.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, data engineering, and platform engineering.
  • Working knowledge across various data management functions, including data governance, metadata management, data quality management, master data management, data modelling, data design, and data security.
  • Passion for data technologies, services, and platforms.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with modern software engineering practices, including test driven development, CI/CD, and DevOps.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Cloud technologies.
  • Experience with or exposure to Platform Engineering concepts, such as developer tooling and experiences.
