Empowering Indigenous Mental Health and Wellbeing
We are seeking compassionate mental health support workers to provide culturally sensitive, holistic support to individuals and families in the Indigenous community.
This role involves providing daily living skills and community activities to meet individual needs of our participants.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide support with daily living skills and community activities to meet individual needs of our participants.
- Stay up-to-date with participants' needs and care plans.
- Offer culturally safe mental health support to Indigenous clients, respecting traditions and values.
- Foster community inclusion and participation.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure treatment plans are met and implemented to a high standard of care.
About You:
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- A qualification in disability, mental health, or a related field (desired).
- Previous experience in mental health support, social work, or a similar role (especially in Indigenous communities).
- Lived experience or a deep understanding of Indigenous culture, traditions, and values.
- Demonstrated ability to support participants with high needs.
- A clear understanding of professional boundaries and restrictive practices.
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision, and under pressure.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
