Job Overview

The Netball World Cup is the premier international tournament for the sport, held every four years. It brings together the top 16 teams in the world for a 10-day competition, featuring pool stages and finals to determine the World Champion.

In 2027, the NWC will take place in Sydney, Australia, across August and September. The event has significant economic impact on NSW and Australia, as well as providing a major opportunity for NA to promote interest, awareness, and participation in netball during its centenary year.

About the Role:
  • Lead operational planning and delivery for NWC 2027, ensuring readiness of venues, teams, officials, and competitions according to World Netball standards.
Venue Management:
  • Oversight of venue readiness, including compliance with World Netball and government requirements.
Workforce & Volunteer Management:
  • Development and implementation of a comprehensive tournament workforce strategy, including recruitment, onboarding, training, deployment, and recognition of paid staff and volunteers.
Match Schedule & Event Delivery:
  • Operational execution of the tournament match schedule, aligning with broadcast, ticketing, venue, and transport plans.
Netball Operations:
  • End-to-end competition operations, including team services, training site readiness, match management, scheduling, and technical delivery.
Integrity, Risk & Compliance:
  • Ensuring all operations comply with relevant legislation, tournament standards, and World Netball integrity frameworks.
Policy & Procedure Development:
  • Development, documentation, and implementation of tournament-wide operational policies and SOPs for consistency, accountability, and operational excellence.
Stakeholder Coordination:
  • Key operational liaison between the LOC and stakeholders, including World Netball, government agencies, emergency services, and venue partners.
