About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at the Department for Education, Children and Young People. As a Speech and Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in supporting the communication and learning needs of children and young people in Tasmanian schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and provide support to students individually or in groups, using your clinical skills to help them participate at school and achieve the best outcomes.
  • Work closely with families, teachers, and other support services to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting students' communication and learning needs.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based speech and language pathology services for children and young people, including assessment, intervention, and consultation.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including psychologists and social workers, to provide comprehensive support to students and their families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to speech and language pathology services.

Essential Requirements
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment).
  • Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by Speech Pathology Australia and is a full member of Speech Pathology Australia or is eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
Desirable Requirements
  • A current driver's licence.
