Senior Piping Operations Manager

As a senior operational leader in the piping discipline, you will play a crucial role in overseeing operations and ensuring compliance with specifications and schedules.

The job holder will be responsible for supervising and directing construction operations within the piping discipline. You will ensure assigned construction operations and contractors' performance are compliant with specifications and within schedules. This is a FIFO role working a 3:1 roster based in Karratha, WA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead employee reviews and identify training opportunities for piping personnel, and complete performance evaluations on direct reports.
  • Provide leadership for safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention on the project, including safety orientation, preparation of safety procedures, and leading Bechtel and subcontractor safety meetings.
  • Ensure current design documents are used to complete work and all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Interface with labor relations for craft recruitment and training programs.
  • Implement corporate project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned piping operations.
  • Other responsibilities as designated.

Requirements:

  • Strong supervision experience, including the ability to lead and manage change.
  • 8-10 years' experience in similar roles within the heavy industrial field.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans clearly and concisely.
  • Strong experience in liaising with and coordinating sub-contractors.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes acquired through specialized instruction or practical experience.
