Auto Electrician Job Description

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Auto Electrician to join our team at our Western Australia Iron Ore sites in the Pilbara. The successful candidate will work on a rotating days and night shift, fly in-fly out roster from Perth.

The role involves conducting complex diagnostics and maintenance activities/repairs on mobile plant & equipment, including autonomous trucks and other essential critical mobile fleet. You will be responsible for following specific maintenance programs and procedures, carrying out checks on equipment as required, and ensuring accurate completion of technical documentation, reports and drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex diagnostics and maintenance activities/repairs on mobile plant & equipment
  • Work efficiently and effectively on plant and equipment such as autonomous Trucks and other essential critical Mobile Fleet
  • Follow specific maintenance programs and procedures
  • Ensure accurate completion of technical documentation, reports and drawings
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Australian recognised Automotive Electrician Trade Qualification (Heavy Industry)
  • Current Automotive Refrigerant Handling licence
  • Forklift and High Risk Working licence
  • Strong auto electrical maintenance experience with sound diagnostic abilities
  • Experience working on CAT Haul Trucks 793F Haul Trucks
  • Exposure to CAT Minestar Autonomous system
  • Experience with Cummins, Liebherr & Caterpillar Equipment
  • Ability to work off schematic drawings
  • Strong presentation, communication and coaching skills and the ability to work closely in a team environment
