About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Accountant to join our team in Arnhem Land. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and support to our business units. With your strong analytical skills and ability to apply initiative in business situations, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our business objectives.

You will be managed by the Finance Manager who will provide support and mentoring in this role. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Providing high-quality financial reporting and balance sheets for assigned business units.
  • Assisting with budget preparation for assigned business units, working closely with the department head and General Manager to ensure budgets reflect business plans.
  • Preparing accurate reconciliations for all businesses/divisions under your ownership, ensuring all backup documentation is correct and present.
  • Closing end-of-month accounts, including accruals and pre-payments.
  • Grant accounting and government project accounting.
  • Preparation and submission of BAS and other ATO requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting.
  • CA/CPA qualification highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in a financial and accounting role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of Power BI.
  • Highly organised and efficient, with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in ERP systems (D365 experience highly desirable).

We offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated salary of $80,000-$120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
