Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Executive Officer to join our team at Service Tasmania. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing exceptional liaison and coordination services to support the effective functioning of our office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage productive and effective liaison between the Office of the Secretary, the Premier's Office, Departmental Groups/Units, and other State Government Agencies as required.
  • Engage with senior officers on behalf of the Chief Governance and Risk Officer and undertake complex coordination activities, provide advice and prepare briefings.
  • Contribute to the proactive management and coordination of the flow of information to, from and within the Office, including initiation and composition of correspondence and reports, and referral of matters for comment or further action to the appropriate Group/Unit/Officer.
  • Attend executive, senior staff and other meetings as required, to prepare and arrange background papers, draw up agendas, prepare and collate background/briefing material, take minutes during meetings, and monitor action items as required.
  • Provide expert advice to departmental staff on protocols, policies and procedures and ensure documentation being forwarded from within the Department is of the highest standard.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the organization's Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives and related training.

Requirements

  • Advanced level of knowledge regarding a range of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to be methodical, exercise interpretive skills in carrying out the duties of the position, have an eye for detail, be familiar with the conventions and protocols established by the Government and the Department related to document style and grammar.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
