Job Title: Strategic Program Lead

Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead the development, implementation, and project management of departmental and whole-of-government programs and strategies in relation to human services for children and families across Queensland.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the work unit, including staff management and resource allocation to achieve strategic and project outcomes.
  • Lead the provision of policy and practice advice on matters across the child protection continuum and support state-wide practice networks.
  • Lead the implementation, monitoring, and review of departmental priorities and commissioning processes to implement delegated authority.
  • Develop and implement quality systems and procedures to ensure effective coordination of responses to critical client, stakeholder, and system issues.
  • Implement effective coordination and ensure governance mechanisms are in place with program, policy, and regional stakeholders.
  • Provide advice regarding emerging issues, critical paths, project linkages, and strategic opportunities and challenges.
  • Deliver high-level analysis, advice, and recommendations on innovative approaches to new trends and issues impacting service delivery for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • This position must be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
  • One referee should be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who can attest to the applicant's background, knowledge, skills, and experience relating to cultural capabilities.
  • Possession of a C class driver's licence and ability to undertake intrastate travel for short periods.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in tertiary child protection practice and/or child protection service response design.
  • Postgraduate studies in related content is highly desirable.
