Inventory Control Specialist Job Description

The right candidate will join our Buying team as an Inventory Control Specialist and develop a career at Costco, working closely with the Food Compliance Manager to assist with assessing and reviewing imported food products for compliance with Australian and New Zealand Laws. This includes reviewing ingredients and developing labelling for Costco's Fresh food areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in reviewing imported food products for compliance with regulatory requirements and develop compliant artwork/labels.
  • Review ingredients and develop labels for Fresh food areas (Bakery, Deli, Food Court).
  • Work closely with internal Buying teams on item reviews, regulatory compliance, and food safety requirements.
  • Manage Costco's Food Vendor Assurance Program and liaise with key external stakeholders to ensure adherence to food safety expectations.
  • Coordinate product testing programs, including shelf-life testing, nutritional testing, and ad hoc product testing requirements.
  • Support the recall and withdrawal program, providing support as required to Compliance and Buying teams during product incident investigations.
Requirements:

We are seeking a degree-qualified Food Science/Technology graduate who is passionate about compliance and regulatory affairs. Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of Microsoft applications, experience in a regulatory or compliance role within the food sector, and understanding of Australian and New Zealand labelling requirements.

Subject to a satisfactory criminal check, you will be required to undertake role-specific training within specified timeframes.
