About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our Catering team at Gertrude Abbott. As a Catering Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals and providing exceptional dining services to our residents.

  • Providing resident meal service including assisting with meal preparation, providing a quality dining service and assisting residents as required
  • Supporting your peers and maintaining a cooperative team spirit
  • Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues and residents, closely following all policies and procedures

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A heart and passion for delivering high-quality care to the elderly
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) - desirable but not essential
  • Good understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
  • Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with experience interacting with a wide range of people
  • Able to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families
  • NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain
