Frontend Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced frontend architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the technical roadmap and architecture for the frontend powering Home, Content Management, and the AI Powered DAM across T&E, Media Platform, and Product Platform. They will propose innovative approaches and solutions to future-proof Canva's product decision platforms and deliver on business outcomes.

  • Define the technical roadmap and architecture for the frontend powering key areas of the platform.
  • Propose innovative approaches and solutions to future-proof Canva's product decision platforms.
  • Design and implement the most intricate aspects of the system.
  • Guide the implementation of major projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with core frameworks in the frontend stack - JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, and TypeScript.
  • Firm grounding in computer science and engineering fundamentals including concurrency, multithreading, data structures, solution design, architecture, and design patterns.
  • Passion for great UX, storytelling, and collaboration.
  • Cross-browser knowledge.
  • Familiarity with building out experiences on the back of a design system.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
