Job Description:

The successful candidate will lead the asset management function, providing strategic guidance, technical expertise, and operational oversight. This role involves shaping long-term asset strategies, driving performance across the site, and working closely with site leadership and operational teams to ensure reliable and efficient energy production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing asset team to deliver asset management strategies, technical support, and expert advice across operations, maintenance, and plant improvement initiatives.
  • Provide in-depth strategic advice to maintenance, operations, and power station leadership teams, ensuring long-term asset reliability, performance, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Oversee corrective, preventative, process safety, and whole-life strategies to optimise asset performance while managing risk and controlling costs.
  • Lead the planning, governance, and execution of major maintenance, capital projects, and planned outages, ensuring risks are effectively managed, contractors and resources are coordinated, and works are delivered safely, on time, to quality standards, and within budget.
  • Oversee external contractors and consultants, ensuring compliance with contracts, high-quality deliverables, and resolution of commercial disputes.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary degree in engineering, with post-graduate qualifications in management or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive management and leadership experience in a complex, heavy, capital-intensive industry, with a proven track record of achieving results.
  • Demonstrated experience leading an asset management function, preferably in heavy industry, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements across plant, safety, environment, and legislation.
  • Ability to lead teams in analysing complex problems, applying strategic thinking, developing solutions, and driving continuous improvement.
