Senior Legal Position

Leading Expert Role

We are seeking an accomplished legal professional to occupy a senior position as Principal Legal Strategist. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this role entails providing expert advice on all legal, governance, compliance, and company secretariat matters.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in governance, compliance, and company secretariat, with expertise in contract negotiation, litigation management, and regulatory compliance. They will also possess experience in corporate governance & board advisory, and regulatory compliance & risk management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the primary legal advisor to the Chief Executive, Board, and Executive team.
  • Overseeing contract negotiation, litigation management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensuring governance frameworks, compliance schedules, and risk management are upheld.
  • Supporting Board operations, reporting, and policy development.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with regulators, external counsel, and stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current legal qualifications and NSW practising certificate.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a General Counsel or senior in-house legal role.
  • Strong governance, compliance, and company secretariat expertise.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to complex legal matters.
