Senior Risk Management Professional

The role of Senior Risk Advisor is a key position within our Legal Excellence & Risk team, responsible for reviewing contracts and managing operational risk. The primary focus is to identify, describe and estimate risks affecting the firm, review compliance with legal teams, conduct regular file audits, and report back to firm management and the Risk Committee on key results and themes.
As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the identification and description of new and existing risks;
- Reviewing clients' terms of engagement for external legal suppliers and other third-party contracts;
- Managing legal and operation issues relating to tenders, including insurance-related queries;
- Assisting team members to manage the firm's engagement agreements, updating appointment terms and providing or assisting with training as required;
- Supporting day-to-day risk management activities, such as conflict assessment, privacy obligations, risk management and compliance training, policy creation, and risk management registers;
- Assisting with the conduct of privacy impact assessments and AI risk assessments;
- Supporting the development and implementation of the firm's AML/CTF program;
- Assisting team members and the Information Security Manager in developing and maintaining the firm's cyber security risk management framework and managing the firm's response to any cyber security incidents;
- Ensuring continuous review and improvement of operational risk policies and procedures.
Key skills and qualifications include:
- Legal qualification and experience;
- Knowledge of risk management processes and principles and experience with risk registers and liaison with senior management risk owners;
- Risk management, compliance, AML or auditing qualification is desirable;
- Experience in using document management systems (e.g., iManage10);
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Highly organized, able to work under pressure to strict deadlines and maintain strong attention to detail;
- Ability to show initiative and work independently as well as part of a team;
- Ability to build strong working relationships with people at all levels.
