This role is responsible for maintaining optimal conditions for layer hens to achieve maximum production daily, while upholding strict animal welfare protocols. Key responsibilities include conducting feed, water, and light checks, as well as general maintenance of equipment. The successful candidate will be a dynamic self-starter, passionate about supporting a collaborative working environment. Daily duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Conducting environmental checks to ensure birds are comfortable
* Conducting inspections on bird welfare, egg systems, and egg belts for ease of flow
* General cleaning and servicing of sheds and equipment as required
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be willing to work as part of a team, and be able to work autonomously when required. They will also have good written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to carry out a range of different tasks.
