About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Finance Manager to lead our Financial Planning, Analysis and Commercial (FPAC) team within the Finance function. The FPAC team supports the business to achieve short-term and long-term strategic and financial goals in a fast-changing environment.

The successful candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, business acumen, leadership and stakeholder management skills. They will be responsible for managing a team of 6, developing them into future leaders, and enhancing SA's decision-making efficiency by achieving operational excellence across all planning cadences.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance or similar, with a Masters degree favourably regarded. They will have a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience within a commercial organisation, with experience managing and leading a commercial finance team.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a team of 6, developing them into future leaders
  • Enhancing SA's decision-making efficiency by achieving operational excellence across all planning cadences
  • Assisting in improving divisional profitability and identifying opportunities for improvement and optimisation
  • Monitoring, reviewing and preparing the presentation of the management financials for discussion with the relevant executive member and their leadership team
  • Preparing and/or validating complex business cases in connection with initiatives and business transformations
  • Supporting the CFO, Head of Finance and ELT members with Ad Hoc analysis and insight into the financial performance of the company and divisions
  • Systematising financial and commercial models and reports
  • Managing pricing, promotional, and commercial models
  • Analysing sales, financial, and market data to develop pricing strategies and models

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Finance Manager who is passionate about leading a team and driving business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, business acumen, leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Key requirements include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance or similar with a Masters degree favourably regarded
  • Membership of a recognised Accounting Body (ideally CA ANZ or CPA)
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience within a commercial organisation
  • Experience managing and leading a commercial finance team
  • Experience in modelling, budgets and forecasts
  • Experience leading a transformation in the finance function, across people, processes and systems
  • Proficiency in financial systems, tools and software - Dynamics365 and Calumo are advantageous
  • Deep financial and technical expertise, and a proven record of implementing company-wide core FP&A systems
  • High Analytical skills and strong Excel modelling skills
  • High levels of initiative and a proactive and forward-thinking attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
