Job Title: Compassionate Pastoral Care Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our vibrant school community in a permanent part-time capacity.

As a Pastoral Care Worker, you will play a vital role in promoting student wellbeing, offering social and emotional support, and contributing to a positive school culture. You'll work closely with staff, students, and families to help create a safe and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing pastoral care to students, including social and emotional support
  • Contributing to a positive school culture and promoting student wellbeing
  • Working closely with staff, students, and families to help create a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Supporting the development of strategies that promote the wellbeing of the broader school community
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Be a Catholic
  • Have an understanding and willingness to support and follow the Catholic Identity and mission of the school, and have a good understanding of Catholic schools and the wider community
  • Be an ethical, respected individual within and outside the school
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and work effectively in teams
  • Demonstrate good organisational ability and proved capacity to work effectively in a school environment
  • Be competent and capable in monitoring and reporting requirements of CSO and NSCP
  • Ability to prioritise the wellbeing of students and families
  • Comply with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 (NSW) and all related laws concerning child protection
Qualifications:

You will need:

  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
  • Completion of anaphylaxis training
  • Meet NSCP minimum qualification requirements (a Certificate IV in Youth Work or Pastoral Care or equivalent)
