Job Title

A Compassionate Care Specialist is responsible for providing personalized support to residents in a retirement community.

The role involves assisting residents to live independently and make choices about their daily lives, while also supporting them with personal care and hygiene needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support residents to exercise choice and independence
  • Contribute to the physical, emotional, and lifestyle needs of residents through assessment and observation
  • Implement care interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse and documented in the resident's plan of care
  • Assist residents with personal care and hygiene needs while encouraging independence
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent recognized qualification (essential)
  • Ability to engage with residents and experience in dementia support
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workloads
  • Demonstrated flexibility, empathy, and patience with older adults and their needs
  • Demonstrated ability to provide holistic care
  • Demonstrated respect for residents' privacy, dignity, and self-esteem
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
