Community Corrections Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Corrections Officer to join our team at the Silverwater Parole Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality services to offenders, including needs assessment, development of interventions, and evidence-based advice and recommendations to the court.
Key Responsibilities- Provide human services to offenders, including needs assessment and development of interventions
- Provide evidence-based advice and recommendations to the court
- Manage offenders exhibiting challenging behaviours and escalate as required
- Manage competing priorities and work within strict timeframes
- High level verbal and written communication skills, including interviewing skills
- High level negotiation, conflict resolution and analytical skills
- Experience or knowledge of court processes, prosecutions, or related areas
- Ability to provide human services in needs assessment and development of interventions
- Capability to provide evidence-based advice and recommendations to the court
- Ability to manage offenders exhibiting challenging behaviours and escalate as required
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work within strict timeframes
- Monthly offsite training and development days
- Onsite parking
- Exposure working with offenders with complex needs
- Working with a diverse range of stakeholders
The Silverwater Parole Unit is a large Community Corrections office within the Metropolitan West District. We oversee the releases of inmates over four correctional centres and one transitional centre. Our team is committed to providing high-quality services to offenders and working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
