About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Corrections Officer to join our team at the Silverwater Parole Unit. As a Community Corrections Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders into the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Embed evidence-based practices across all areas of your work to target responses to the areas that will allow the greatest impacts to be made with the Inmates you are working with
- Provide human services in needs assessment and development of interventions
- Manage offenders exhibiting challenging behaviours and escalate as required
- Provide advice to releasing authorities including State Parole Authority, Attorney Generals
Requirements
- High level verbal and written communication skills, including interviewing skills
- High level negotiation, conflict resolution and analytical skills
- Experience or knowledge of court processes, prosecutions, or related areas
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work within strict timeframes
About Us
The Silverwater Parole Unit is a large Community Corrections office within the Metropolitan West District, overseeing the releases of inmates over four correctional centres and one transitional centre.
