  • South Burnett Regional Council is seeking a Senior Technical Officer - Asset Management to join their team.

We are looking for an experienced professional who can lead a team of technical officers in maintaining and managing the region's infrastructure assets. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of civil infrastructure, asset condition, and community impact, as well as excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Conduct regular inspections of infrastructure assets such as roads, bridges, drainage, and footpaths.
  • Identify and document defects and condition, maintaining accurate records in Council's asset management systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers, works supervisors, and technical officers to deliver programs and projects.
  • Provide technical input into capital works planning and lifecycle costing.
  • Monitor progress against plans and adjust as required to meet operational targets.
  • Support compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Experience in engineering, civil construction, or infrastructure maintenance, preferably in local government.
  • Good knowledge of TMR standards and RMPC requirements or willingness to learn.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Qualifications in engineering, civil construction, project management, or similar (desirable).
  • A current C Class Driver's Licence and White Card.
