Job Title: Sustainability Project Coordinator

This role plays a pivotal part in the development and implementation of sustainability policies and strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various projects and programs aimed at delivering the Council's vision and targets.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage sustainability initiatives and projects to deliver outcomes against strategies.
  • Promote behavioral change and education through campaigns and programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize benefits from projects.

Working Relationships:

  • The Sustainability Project Coordinator will report directly to the Sustainability Advisor.
  • Liaise with Corporate Communications and Marketing Branch for campaign delivery.
  • Liaise with Strategic Outcomes & Project Branch for project management.
  • Liaise with community groups for engagement and consultation.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage contracts and consultancies for specific sustainability projects.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate sustainability into operational processes.
  • Research best practices for carbon reduction initiatives.
  • Promote awareness and involvement among stakeholders.
  • Ensure stakeholder consultation and engagement for relevant projects and contracts.

Communication Skills:

  • Maintain productive relationships internally and externally with stakeholders.
  • Prepare written reports under limited guidance for Council and external agencies.
