Coal Quality Assessment Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Physical Laboratory Testing Technician. This role will involve conducting a range of physical tests on coal samples, including sample preparation, sizing, crushing, dividing and sample storage.

The ideal candidate will have strong numeracy and literacy skills, be able to work independently without supervision, and be comfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting. Previous coal sampling experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

  • Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner
  • Loading and unloading coal samples from various plant streams
  • Transfer validated results into the reporting system
  • Calibration and maintenance of specialised equipment

The position requires flexibility, including the ability to perform shift work and weekend work as required. Full training will be provided to successful applicants.

Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license
  • Strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to organise work, multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Comfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting

Note: A pre-employment medical exam, including drug and alcohol assessment, is required as part of the selection process.
