Job Title: Housing Team Leader

 

This role is a key leadership position that plays a significant part in managing, growing and developing operations in Tasmania.

The Housing Team Leader will report to the General Manager of Tasmania and be responsible for leading a housing team. The person will work closely with the property team, community development team and other critical internal and external stakeholders to provide residents with opportunities to sustain their tenancy.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage people to achieve service compliance and organisational objectives/outcomes.
  • Deliver quality housing services through effective management and reporting.
  • Manage risks and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks including the Residential Tenancies Act.
  • Effectively manage the housing portfolio.

 

About You:

  • Qualification in social sciences, community housing or real estate, or equivalent experience.
  • Sound knowledge of the housing sector, tenancy and disability legislation and regulatory frameworks as it relates to housing management activities.
  • Experience in leading and developing teams and maintaining a positive culture and high-performing team.
  • Sensitivity to socially disadvantaged groups, including people experiencing homelessness, living with disability, complex needs and non-English speaking backgrounds.
  • Experience in preparing comprehensive reports on housing and related management activities.
  • Ability to negotiate confidently with stakeholders and build relationships for sustainable outcomes.
  • Capacity to lead and support change and deliver creative solutions.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
