Job Overview

The role of Director, Risk and Control Advisory is a senior leadership position within our organization.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for leading the embedded non-financial risk and conduct advisory team.

The team partners with various business units to integrate non-financial risk management and conduct processes, including advising, challenging and assessing risks, reviewing and implementing control environments, resolving issues, investigating incidents, and monitoring regulatory and conduct obligations.

This role requires leveraging knowledge of the end-to-end institutional banking environment to advise and assist on effective application of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the assessment of risks, controls, and regulatory obligations across the business profile, aligning with risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
  • Manage your team to drive continuous improvement of the business control environment, thorough investigation of incidents, and resolution of issues.
  • Anticipate and respond to emerging risks, conduct thematic reviews, and shape proactive risk mitigation processes and controls.
  • Coordinate and attend risk and governance forums, deliver risk reporting, and metrics to drive accountability and improvements across the business.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in non-financial risk, conduct or compliance roles within institutional banking or financial markets.
  • Deep understanding of operational risk frameworks, control design, and regulatory landscapes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong critical thinking.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as finance, law, or business administration.
  • Professional certifications, such as CFA or CAIA.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and influencing senior stakeholders.
