About the Role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer (Water & Dams) is a key member of our team at Jacobs, responsible for providing consultancy and engineering services in the dams and water market in the ANZ region. This role involves supporting our major dams engineering frameworks and delivering technically excellent mechanical engineering designs and consultancy services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality mechanical engineering designs and consultancy services, carrying out independent design/review/assurance on projects.
  • Drive business development and be responsible for work winning, identifying new opportunities and supporting the pursuit of existing ones.
  • Bid preparation and submittals as required, supporting section leaders and project managers in delivering financially successful projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients across the public and private sector, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Maintain compliance with Jacobs' QA procedures, including the deliverables review QA process.
  • Mentor and facilitate the technical development of junior resources to meet market requirements.
  • Promote a safety culture within the organization and with clients.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Author technical reports detailing methodologies, results, and impact assessments.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to liaise with clients confidently and lead meetings.
  • Build relationships with clients, contribute to business development, and support the pursuit of new opportunities.
  • Effectively collaborate with the wider water resource practice to share technical skills, resources, or work packages.
  • Attain/maintain proficiency in standard tools, techniques, and equipment required for the undertaking, completion, and delivery of work.
  • Ensure sufficient knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Communicate results and analysis with internal and external clients.
