Telecommunications Equipment Installation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Equipment Installation Specialist to join our team in Perth. Experience in telecommunications industry roles will be critical.

As a specialist, you will work under the supervision of a Supervisor and your team leader to carry out installation works on telecommunications structures and sites. This includes working at heights and in remote areas of Western Australia.

Duties:

  • Installation, testing, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment mounted on high structures;
  • Assessing installation requirements, planning, and performing installations;
  • Testing installed equipment and fault-finding on existing equipment;
  • Following client and industry specifications, standards, and HSE guidelines;
  • Reading and interpreting construction drawings to complete works to a high-quality standard;
  • Adjusting, replacing, and repairing faulty items, and testing equipment using electronic instruments;
  • Ensuring all paperwork is correctly completed and submitted to our office in a timely manner;
  • Submitting relevant documentation on completion of works, including photographic documentation as required by our clients.

Requirements:

  • A conscious commitment to implementing safe working practices and procedures;
  • Solid knowledge about rigging in both construction and mobile industries;
  • Previous experience rigging in the telecommunications industry and relevant rigging qualifications and tickets;
  • Proficiency in identifying faults in telecommunications equipment using instruments such as ohm meters, voltmeters, transmission measuring equipment, Anritsu site master, and PIM testers;
  • Strong knowledge in using and selecting the correct equipment for various rigging tasks.

To be considered for this role:

  • A minimum of 1 year industry experience;
  • Physical strength and agility to perform required work;
  • A positive 'can do' attitude;
  • Current Certificate in Rigging (Intermediate or Advanced);
  • Tower/Rope Rescue Certificate;
  • Current High-Risk Work Licence;
  • Competency-based qualification and experience with Elevated Work Platforms (EWP);
  • First Aid Certificate;
  • RadHaz Certificate;
  • Construction White card;
  • Drivers Licence.
