We are seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join our team at Leidos Australia, a leading provider of trusted solutions for the Australian Defence sector. As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will be part of our 24x7x365 Central Processing Cyber Security Operations Centre (CP SOC) capability, working collaboratively with the Defence Security Operations Centre (DSOC) to defend one of the largest and most complex ICT networks in the southern hemisphere.

This is a permanent role that requires the successful applicant to work on a rotating shift roster (typically 12 hour shifts) onsite at HMAS Harman in Canberra.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated advance expertise in developing, maintaining and monitoring SIEM (Splunk) apps, rulesets, dashboards and workflows;
  • Intermediate to advance Windows, Linux and Networking experience;
  • Intermediate to advance Incident Response professional experience;
  • Experience with Trellix EPO, Tenable and Palo Alto platforms, or similar;
  • Ability to provide leadership, direction and coordination to a team of professionals;
  • Industry ICT Security qualifications such as CompTIA Sec+, CISSP, GIAC, GCIH etc; and
  • A tertiary education (Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent).

You will be responsible for demonstrating leadership as the shift lead, and within the broader team, to meet mission and contractual outcomes. You will also be required to work collaboratively with stakeholders to triage, manage and report on security incidents, actively build relationships with stakeholders, develop SOC tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP's) and security toolsets, and assist in threat hunt operations using known adversary TTP's and Indicators of Compromise (IOC's) to detect advanced threats.
