We are seeking a professional Debt Recovery Officer to join our team. The role involves managing a portfolio of overdue accounts to ensure timely and effective debt recovery.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for contacting debtors via phone, email, and written correspondence to discuss outstanding balances and negotiate manageable repayment plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage a portfolio of overdue accounts to ensure timely and effective debt recovery.
  2. Contact debtors via phone, email, and written correspondence to discuss outstanding balances and negotiate manageable repayment plans.
  3. Identify and locate debtors who have moved or are difficult to reach.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all communications, payment arrangements, and account activities in our collections system.
  5. Analyse financial information to develop tailored repayment strategies.
  6. Address debtor inquiries and concerns professionally, providing high-level customer service.
  7. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and facilitate smooth collection processes.
  8. Prepare and submit reports on collections performance and accounts receivable status.
Required Skills:
  1. Proven experience in debt collection and customer service.
  2. Strong negotiation and persuasion skills with a focus on respectful and ethical communication.
  3. High-level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  4. Proficiency in using debt collection software, including Connect and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
