Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 to join our team at NSW Health. This is a temporary part-time position available until 27 June 2027, with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical advice to patients, clients, carers, and other healthcare professionals with complex healthcare needs within Cancer Services.
- Develop, facilitate implementation, and evaluate care management plans for patients diagnosed with specific cancers, focusing on care coordination for patients identified with complex needs.
- Develop education and training programs and participate in collaborative research with other health professionals in relation to Cancer Care Services.
- Establish and maintain communication with all relevant Medical Practitioners, Nursing, and Allied Health Professionals, and assist in the organisation and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Facilitate and coordinate the scheduling of treatments, liaising with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Triage patient needs and make appropriate and timely referrals to allied health and support services.
- Registered nurse with a current licence to practice from the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and current Class C NSW Health driver's license, with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
- Minimum five years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least three years recent full-time equivalent experience in the specialty field of Oncology, Palliative Care, or Cancer Stream specific nursing or related discipline and postgraduate qualifications relevant to the field of practice.
- Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
- Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework.
- Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilisation of evidence-based research.
- Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management, and cultural change processes.
- Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems, and experience in the development of specialty education programs.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently.
